3.1 Housing Inquiries and Bookings

When you search for or book accommodation through our platform, we collect:

  • Identity Data: Name, email, nationality, phone number.
  • Academic Info: University and course details.
  • Housing Preferences: Move-in dates, budget, preferred room types.
  • Financial Data: Transaction IDs (payment processing handled by Stripe).

Important: We do NOT collect identification documents, enrollment proofs, or personal documents through the platform. These are handled directly with the property owner/manager outside of our website for your privacy and security.

3.2 AI Chatbot

We use third-party AI services to provide a chatbot that helps you search for rooms.

What Data is Processed:

  • Your chat messages
  • Public room information (addresses, prices, photos - already visible on our website)

What is NOT Processed:

  • Your personal information (name, email, phone)
  • Payment details
  • Booking history or private documents

No Guarantee: AI responses are provided "AS-IS" without warranty. The AI may provide incorrect information. Always verify recommendations against official room listings.

Legal Basis: Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We use external services to operate our platform:

  • Stripe (USA) - Payment processing
  • AI Service Provider (USA) - Chatbot functionality
  • Resend (USA) - Transactional emails
  • Vercel (USA) - Website hosting
  • Cloudinary (USA) - Image storage
  • Neon (USA/EU) - Database hosting

All USA-based providers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

We do NOT sell your data.

  • Contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): Processing is necessary to manage your room inquiries, waitlist entries, and bookings.
  • Legitimate Interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): Improving platform security, error monitoring, and providing AI assistance.

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Object to or restrict data processing.
